Our Kids - 2009 *Sarah's hijack*

Hi, it's Sarah here.

I decided it was about time I hijacked the blog. For those that don't know me, I'm the other half of follan photography. While Andrew is the frontman & head "maestro" photographer of our team, I work more in the background on the business side as well as being our second shooter. I thought 2010 was the right time to take a step up and become more visible.  I also think that with Andrew getting so busy last year (this year is shaping up to be the same!), the personal side of the blog was lost. I'm going to bring it back!

What's that saying about all work and no play?

When choosing a photography studio, especially your wedding photographers, you are choosing the person behind the camera.  So it makes sense for you to get a better picture of us personally. As some of you may know, Andrew and I have 3 wonderful (and often crazy) kids.  Any time we aren't working, and even sometimes when we are trying to work, we are hanging out with our kids. Family time is majorly important to both of us and we think we manage a pretty good balance. Most of the time. Our family time is Andrew's chance to relax and put down his camera (he then usually becomes my 4th child!), so I'm the one who takes many of our own kid's shots.

Here are some of my favourites from the last 12 months.  I've tried to include the ones that really show my kids personalities. Hope you enjoy the images.

Kobi - Age 7 (our beautiful "thinker")

Kobi & Andrew (aka my fourth child).

Even the middle of winter can't stop my kids at the beach!

Sienna - Age 5 (going on 14?)

Sienna will always be daddy's little girl. She knows it and exploits it!

Sienna with her little shadow, cousin Aimilee.

Yes, going on 14. She choose those sunnies herself.

This sums up Sienna & Jett PERFECTLY!

Jett - Age 2 (our cheeky cutie who, like every 2 year old, thinks he's boss of the house)

Jett wasn't too sure about his home haircut!

So he insisted on wearing a hat.

Our little sporting hero. We are not being biased but we have never seen a kid hit a ball like Jett can. The moment he walks into his Nan Nan's house the first thing he says is "Nan Nan, play bat ball?".

Yes. He has attitude.

After having a bucket of water thrown over him. Jett does have to put up with a lot by his older brother and sister, but he gets his own back.

Well I REALLY enjoyed writing this post. Think I will be hijacking the blog more often.

Until next time.

S.

This is why I love putting the camera down with my kids. So Sarah can capture these awesome moments. Man, they grow up quickly!
