Australia Day in Sydney - *Sarah's HiJack*
Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 9:50PM Hi, it's Sarah hijacking the blog again.
I promise all my hijack posts won't be focussed around our kids, but I had to share with you the latest 2 day family adventure we've had. With Australia Day yesterday and Andrew's birthday today (yah happy birthday babe) we decided to make a mini-holiday out of the 2 days and stay the night in a hotel in the city.
Yesterday morning we caught the rivercat into town (huge props to Sydney Ferries for not charging any one, how Australian!). The day was spent hanging out in the city, soaking up the Aussie day festivities around Darling Harbour and watching the fireworks. Although we nearly melted in the heat yesterday the kids had a BALL!
Here are my favs.....

This building / walkway has about 4 escalators in it. The kids went up and down ALL of them at least 3 times!
To Karl & Bec - remember that copying is the ultimate form of flattery ;)

Hmmm, nothing like a marshmallow chocolate fondue to keep the energy levels up. Yes, it was originally meant to come with fruit but we opted for more sugar.

4 hours sitting in the scorching sun. These bubble guns were the best $15 ever spent.

While I took Kobi and Sienna to get drinks Andrew & Jett were left to guard our spot. Jett thought that shooting people with the bubble gun was the best option. This included shooting 6 Riot Police as they walked past (Andrew didn't dare take that shot!)

Broken Princess.

This is SO typical Sienna!

Just a few people turned up to watch the fireworks. Oh, we LOVE 4000 ISO :)

Breakfast today at Cockle Bay Wharf for Andrew's B'Day.

More milkshakes. More Sugar.

Ok, well at least one of my kids listen to me when I ask them to line up. Maybe it's the sugar?

I hope everyone had a great Australia Day. Like always, make me feel special by leaving me a comment :)
Until next time.
S.
