]]>I was thinking about this and realised that one of the biggest things I love about being a wedding photographer is being able to spend time with my family. I am not tied to an office chair working 9 to 5 (or longer these days!) and only seeing the kids at night. I'm not restricted to 4 weeks holidays a year (even though we actually "officially" take less!). No. I am in the unique position to see my kids every day, for a few hours every day... but lately I have not been taking advantage of this. I don't know why. It has just worked out that day.
So the other day I went to the park with Sienna & Jett. Kobi was at karate but hey, he is 8 now so way too cool for dad anyway (unless he needs help with making sure his lego is tight enough or to get past a level on his DSI). We went to our old park. The one just around the corner from our old house. The one the kids love the most. It was 3:30pm and I was the only dad there. I felt like I should tell the mums I was not unemployed.
Whilst at the park I was thinking about the blog. I love blogging. One of the main things clients comment on is the fact they can see SO much of our work and that makes them so comfortable before they even come to see us. Anyway, I was thinking about the blog... and realised that we have been so focused on weddings this year that the personal side of the blog has been lost. Sarah started hijacking the blog, which everyone loved. But even that has had to take a back seat to wedding album design.
Well I am pleased to say that my little trip to the park has reignited the flame to add a little bit more of "us" to the blog. I'm not promising something every week but I am promising more of this...
Of course this will mean that some weddings are not posted a few days after the event. It means that some pre wedding sessions may only have a few images rather than a lot. But it also means that all my Bride & Grooms who trust us with their wedding day will also get to watch my kids grow. Will get a little more insight into our lives so come their wedding day we are even more closer.
For my next personal post I promise some images of Kobi. I just have to get him to agree first!!!

]]>The Ivy is an amazing venue. If I shot here every weekend I would be one happy photographer. Two buildings with so many different themed rooms (including a roof top pool!). On the way out Sarah said she felt like an extra in an episode of Gossip Girl, I of couse pointed out she would have been the lead.
But there was something else I was looking forward to and that was sharing their wedding day with Demelza & Tim. Ever since their pre wedding session I knew this would be a special wedding and it did not disappoint.
I have spent days going through the images trying to pick out a handful for the blog... impossible. So I am going to share with you Demelza & Tim as I see them. Quite simply, they are so in love, so into each other. This is what I want to show. Oh, besides of course Demelza's awesome Prada shoes...
Possibly one of my favourites. Possibly because I never had to ask Demelza & Tim to do anything, they just did it all themselves.
This shot does not show it but this is actually a shower. Yep, a monsoon shower in the middle of the club and it does get turned on!
The Ivy set up this awesome lolly tree. Thought it would make a good ring shot :)

]]>Before I go though, I did manage to sneak an image out from Andrew's pre-wedding shoot today with the fabulous Sarah & Michael. Their whole session will be blogged by Andrew when we get back. I like this one A LOT!!

]]>Chanel and Paul are getting married in the Hunter Valley later this year and Sarah and I can't wait, we love The Hunter Valley. After shooting 3 weddings in The Hunter Valley last year, this will be our first and only for this year. For some reason every time we got an enquiry for this year we were already booked, it happens like that!
Love these next two images... these are the only ones I showed Paul on the day, Chanel had to wait. I'm cruel sometimes :)
This just proves that I am funny. So funny in fact that I don't even have to say anything funny to get my bride and grooms to laugh. Hmmm, are they laughing with or AT me?
It was late, cold and Paul had to get to a Jam session... not to mention Chanel is afraid of heights. Thank god at least one image turned out from our little experiment on the roof!!!

]]>Helen & Adam got married at Blues Point and then we went to the Marigold Restaurant for the reception. Sarah & I were excited about the reception as this is where we used to go every Sunday morning for Yum Cha, but since our kids are fussy eaters we had not been in ages.
Helen and the girls got ready at Star City whilst the boys chilled out at home.
The second image here pretty well sums up Adam. I think he was having technology withdrawals throughout the day :)
Helen's Dad was so happy on the day... probably because he had a win at Star City whilst Helen was getting ready. Those girls take a long time to get ready don't they Dad!

Like a true Vietnamese wedding there was much confusion over the seating at the reception. It reminded Sarah and I so much of when we were in Vietnam earlier in the year.

]]>Believe it or not this was the first time I had ever been to Cronulla. I grew up in the Hills and then lived in Dee Why on the North shore, so never travelled down south. But this is why I love my job SO much, I get to hang out with cool people (even if they do mention they are going to Bali the next day a few too many times!!!) and I get to explore new areas.
Alicia and Chris were referred to me by the awesome Alison & Clint. You just know it's going to be a fun wedding.
Oh, quick note to future Bride & Grooms - If I have never been to a place before and I say "Let's just walk that way", feel free to shoot me! After walking way too far through soft sand dunes I finally decided to stop and take some photos... I'm glad I did :)

Alicia might hate me for posting this next image. I try and get Sarah to buy clothes for herself that she doesn't like all the time. I promise they look good on her, really they do, but She vaery rarely buys them! Well, Chris loves this beret on Alicia and too me, that is all that matters. BTW - I think it is pretty cute as well.

I just realised that I have not updated the blog in over a month. I'm not including Sarah's awesome hijack in that calculation... Hmmmm, what to say? My dog ate my computer? Nah, wouldn't cut it!
I love running a blog, I really do. I love it when new clients come into the studio and can rattle of so many names of my previous Bride & Grooms. "I loved so&so's dress". "I loved so&so's shoes". However the downside to running a blog is time. It's takes a long time to prepare the images. A long time to write the blog post (the delete key get's used a lot and sometimes maybe not enough!) and unfortuantely when we get super busy like we have been for the last two months the blog gets neglected.
But I am very happy to bring it back to life with an awesome Pre Wedding session I shot a few days ago in the city. Shemin & Dai are getting married next month and I can't wait for their wedding. It is always SO refreshing when you get a couple that just fall into each other like these two do.
Oh and BTW guys. Yes, I have a bruise from my fall!!!
